Editorial Project - We All Bleed the Same
The goal of this assignment was to produce two designed spreads for an editorial magazine, with freedom to choose our own topic and visual direction. Being a Minneapolis resident myself, I chose to create a topic that quite literally was close to home, but also discussed issues beyond my understanding- the Black Lives Matter movement here in MPLS following the death of George Floyd. I reached out to photographer friends who captured some of these heartbreaking moments after Floyd's murder, as well as friends in the black community who wrote testimonies of their experiences.
My project aims to tell the stories and amplify the voices of the black community in America and to bring the reader into the story the best I could through my skillsets in only two spreads.
